Warm weather makes it a perfect time to explore new places around the Washington DC Metro area, and this past weekend, my family and I decided to visit Clark’s Elioak Farm in Ellicott City (Howard County). Just along Route 108, about 2 miles West of MD Route 29 in the heart of Howard County, it has a petting zoo, pony rides, hay rides and a fun place for kids to visit. They just opened for the 2013 season on April 1st, and it’s a good place for kids to run around and explore while adults enjoy themselves as well.
I’ve visited Howard County in the past to visit friends, many of whom are software professionals or employed in the bio-tech/healthcare industry. If you work in Baltimore, Howard County is located conveniently between the Washington DC area and Baltimore. Among the top employers in Howard County are SAIC, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, Verizon Wireless, and Northrop Grumman. The US Census says the average commute time in Howard County is around 30 minutes. Ellicott City is also a historic place and is part of the Historic National Road in Maryland. On our next visit, we want to visit the The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum in Ellicott City Station, which is the oldest surviving railroad station in America.
Being curious Bozzuto Communities in Howard County, I discovered that the Bozzuto Homes community Maple Lawn is located in Fulton, MD and drove past this community. Maple Lawn looks great with a lot of amenities and retail, and is less than 10 minutes from I-95. I’m looking forward to paying a visit and seeing the new homes Bozzuto has in this community.
